house-painters-3Every Certified Hire approved service representative that comes to your home has willingly taken part in a rigorous employment and criminal history check.  Certified Hire extends its screening solutions to companies and individuals, who at the end of the day, all want the same thing: protection against risk.  When service providers integrate background screening into their hiring process, they simultaneously address their own security needs, as well as the security needs of their clients.

SOLUTIONS: SSN Verification

Social security number (SSN) verification is among the most basic and effective ways to perform a background search.  An SSN trace incorporates national credit bureau and Social Security Administration information, and entails cross-verification from both sources.

Identity fraud is increasingly prevalent in the United States; an SSN trace lends significant protection against identity crimes by returning the following information:

  • Year of SSN issuance
  • Names and aliases associated with a particular card number
  • A ten-year address history
  • Occurrence of invalid numbers
  • Occurrence of numbers retired due to death benefit claims
  • Occurrence of numbers used in fraudulent activities

The amount of information returned from an SSN search depends on the history of an employee; in cases where a name and Social Security Number do not match, further verification is required.  Certified Hire insists on properly corroborating all results, until the facts are aligned and the employee profile is complete.

SOLUTIONS: Criminal Records Search

A statewide criminal search yields records as they are reported by statewide criminal data repositories; a multi-state criminal search performs a criminal record and sex offender database search across almost all states. Presently, the sex offender portion of the search includes all 50 states, as well as the District of Columbia. The criminal portion of the multi-state search currently returns information from 44 states, and also includes the District of Columbia.

A county criminal search is conducted nationwide when available; it provides the same kind of information as statewide and multi-state criminal searches, but at the county level.

A Global Alert database search identifies individuals who represent a potential threat to United States National Security. According to the U.S.A. Patriot Act (10/26/01), certain businesses must be in compliance with the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), or be subjected to serious penalties. The Global Alert database search returns information from the most frequently searched alert lists and sources, including:

  • Specially Designated Nationals (SDN)
  • Specially Designated Narcotics Traffickers (SDNT)
  • Specially Designated Global Terrorist List (SDGT)
  • Foreign Terrorist Organizations
  • Other leading sources

All our suppliers are industry leaders in retrieving OFAC data, and are endorsed by the American Bankers Association. The process of Global Alert database searching employs a unique logical cross-referencing against other sources. The database itself is continually updated to ensure your protection, by providing you with the most current information available.
